Pelles Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 on sunday night i got a really weird problem, i was driving along the motor way then all of a suddenly my full beam started flashing without my aid....... it was going on and off and people in front of me where pulling over thinking i was flashing them, so i drove annoyingly along the motor way for 5 miles with my headlights flashing every 5 or so secs.....it must have been caused by some vibrations of some sort.... secondly i stopped at the services, got out had a look, shook all the wires, and i had fixed that problem, but in the process created another one....my Passenger side full beam is jammed on! the second i put my key in the ignition and turn it to live, is the second that full beam comes on with the light switches indicating the light is off...so i thought i could just pull the fuses out from my full beam....i done that, but the light still stayed on! i dont know why that could be because without the fuse there, thats considered a break in the circuit! so ive been driving about all day with my full beam on and at night too (full beam on only on left side) ive tried everything to stop it.... anyone got a clue what i can do or had the same problem?
sortedford Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 it sounds like there’s a short circuit (no wax not Jonny 5)
jp Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 have you been driving into any 'fords' really fast cos i used to and it completely fucked up all my electrics. it was fun at the time though
sime73 Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 there is a common fault with the stalks that u use to turn on your lights with, could be that cos i my headlights failed one night last year and thats wat it was

McRic Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 duno the answer m8 but Sunday night I thought the car was going back into Koncept on Sunday they aint bumped you off again have they
Mk6 Si Ross Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 I`ve got a similar problem in that if i flash someone it tends to stay on so you have to pull the stalk again and again to flick the bugger off
Al Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Yes.........seen this on a few Escorts, tends to be the light stalk.A new one is a bit pricey so look for a 'working' 2nd hand one.........try asking Wyn (900ss)as he works in a scrappy. Oh Rob (rs1300) Thanks for saying'I had the same problem'........and not saying what it was! :madbugger: One sure way of getting rid of these annoying 'little' faults..........is to buy a jap motor!! Al.
