It was a smashing day, when i arrived at pod it was very misty and i did wonder whether the day was going to be any good..... The Evo stand was in a brilliant place, right as you came in and literally the stand nextdoor to Fast Ford Shame there was only 4 of us though The mist cleared and cars started running, several 10sec 1/4's were seen and some really nice cars on show....The white mk4 Escort drag car was nearly written off when the guy lost it whilst warming the tyres up and span out nearly cracking the wall .... There was also a sideways area for people to drift there cars round on which provided abit of entertainment whilst getting covered in rubber lol and there was also a rally stage.... Arrived at the meet point a bit earlier than everyone else but had already been to the pod as sarah put the wrong postcode in the sat nav! she's blonde..... (wasn't in my car as it was still having problems) Nipped to the priory for some food before heading back to santa pod to get our tents up (think i finally finished putting my tent up at about 10 o clock or something silly like that!) Had a walk round the fair that was there and started to have a few beers, said hello to heavy right foot, hope you sell it soon mate, ian & stoo went to bed fairly early as they were up setting up at 6ish or something (i wouldn't know as i was up drinking with More E Vicar till about 3 if i recall) finally fell out of my tent at 9.30 which i thought was very respectable! hadn't your girlfriend been up since 5 stoo? The turnout of cars was really good i thought, better than the rsoc day in may. Jet car never ceases to bring a big grin to my face there was a very wide range of cars there from rs200's to full on funny cars dragging it out. Just a selected few of my favourites as i got quite alot today, i know you got shed loads ian but i guess with your camera there a tad over 600kb? This car was pure evil & the driver is as nutty as they come! Think it's fastest time was 7.1, every burnout he did it looked like it was gonna go over, so much bloody torque! Dave C Posted June 10, 2007 Share Posted June 10, 2007 (edited) It certainly was a good day..As Mike said,the stand was in an excellent spot. . Turned up at the meet point & wondered if it was the right tesco,as i didnt see any escorts,then i spotted stoo's manta,so pulled up near that. rsyule spotted me & came over too introduce himself. After doing quick a booze run round tescos,went for a meal at the priory where the staff seemed to forget about yule's order.He eventually got it 15 minutes after everyone else. Turned up at the pod,only to find it was nearly impossible to find a spot.Once we found somewhere,it was fun watching Ian trying to hammer the tent pegs into the ground without bening them,& yule having trouble settin up his tent,because he kept pulling the eyelets off.. Ian & stoo were a couple of light weights & called it a night about ½ 11 - 12 .Went for a stroll round the fairground,then headed back to the tents & continued drinking till about 3:30. Got up about 8am to the sound of Ian's car alarm going off .Yule crawled out of his tent ½ hour late,looking very hung over ,& started up his bbq.. Next time i'll have to make an effort to talk too Mike & Dave.. Anyway,enough of the waffle,heres some pictures. (356 of them) Yule,did you find the bottle opener ? ? Found it when we got home in sarah's handbag believe it or not! it's like a bottomless pit in there!
