MarkyMark
Had my rally experience day at Oulton Park, it was Fcuking amazing The day started with a briefing on the cars which were rwd escort cosworths , driving techniques and safety, lasted about 15 minutes then it was time grab a helmet, meet the instructor and get strapped inAll the family came to watch and take photos, my kids got the chance to sit in the cars, my little lad thought he was coming out with me Then it was out onto the track for some serious arse out driving, the day is split over two course and you get 20 mins on each course. The instructor talked you through the course as you drove pointing out little markers where you should pull the handbrake etc. This was my first time ever in a rwd car and it was awesome. We were only alllowed to use 1st and 2nd gear but that was all that was needed when your powersliding. I managed to do it loads, flicking the car into the corner using the handbrake, opppsosite lock, power on and away you go. It was hard to stop yourself from trying to correct the slide, to do it right you dont really steer the car, you control the car using the accelarator, letting the steering wheel slide through your hands, then hold on tight when your straight. When you get it right powersliding left to right is an amazing feeling. My timed laps were 47 secs and 48 secs and i achieved an overall score of 42/50 which is better than average. At the end i swapped seats with the instructor for 2 laps which were amazingIt was'nt all great i had my moments and spun it a few times one being on my timed lap My highlight and the instructors Was when i spun the car but caught it right and did a doughnut and fishtailed away up the track. Mint. I would highly recommend it to anyone, i will definately be going back for another crack at it
Harvez
Sounds a good laugh ! Is a strange feeling at first controlling without the wheel, i was taught to just let go completly and only use the Accel and catch it when its straight or close enough to feed the last little bit

MarkyMark
Sounds a good laugh ! It was mint, one of the best things ive done for ages Is a strange feeling at first controlling without the wheel, i was taught to just let go completly and only use the Accel and catch it when its straight or close enough to feed the last little bitYeah it is strange, first couple of corners i Shite it, really felt like i was losing it. Once you know it will flick back i started to enjoy it. I was letting go at first then the instructor said just open your hand and let the steering wheel pass through your fingers. Feels better because you still feel the wheel, try it in yours cool How much that set you backIt was a gift for my 30th a while back Not sure how much it was, they do a hotrides session which is 35quid for 3 laps. Im going back next month hopefully for another crack at it
