M4TT
proper polishers have a soft start and speed controlled, i wouldn't like using/putting an angle grinder near any car, spin to fast and are in controllerable for polishing, but thats what the pro's will say that use these. Makita, Metebo make great Rotories and then the Porter Cable the Machine, the saftess option if never machine polished at car before for both you can get 6" and 4" pads, the 4" ones are better to get in smaller places, but also genarate more heat, so the polish works better. M4TT
any prices on how how much these cost A rotary around £100 -£150 i think and a PC (Porter Cable) is around the £120-£130, but this has to be imported from the States, then around £70 -£80 for the Yellow transformer, new plug and an extension lead the PC is the safer option if never used a machine before check out the machine polishing section on Detailing World, on the imported and tip, and techincs

Joe
Matt.... could this be used on a drill.... or is this a silly idea? Edited June 17, 2007 by Joe
M4TT
there are drill attached ments, but worth a try but you can get better presure with a PC or rotory polisher, soon find out its not the best or safesst route for your paint, i wouldnt like to use one there is a UDM (Ultimate Detailing Machine) coming out with a 3 pin plug on it, 240v very simalar to the PC and uses the same pads think about £150 not sure yet.
