yeah i did the same search, i know a few people on here have mercs and thought they maybe able to point me to the right place?

 

aslo without wanting to sound like a n00b does anyone know the mpdel designation of a T reg 2.6 V6 petrol ? the massive shpae one with quad headlights... i know the earlier ones a W123 and W124 so would this shape be a W125?

You could spend more than the car is worth repairing that gearbox.

 

Second hand units are dirty cheap as it's more than likely using the older style box used in the 210 chassais 190E. There's thousands of them :)

 

Mercman - 02380 784444 will have what you need and deliver it to your door. You'll need a box code from the side of the autobox.

 

PC Merc - 020 85565585 are another good source for Merc boxes and diffs.

Take the AFM off......... see what happens.I wouldn't take it to a dealer. £100+ an hour to tell you what you should already know.I doubt it's the gearbox, if it was limiting you to 40mph, then you'd hear it.You could always change the box oil and see if there's any solids caught up in the filter.

 

Manual?

 

A different prop and possibly diff. linkages and pedals.IF it's the box, an autobox would be simple as fcuk to find. But first you really need to find out what it is :)
