Hezz
get a red key off ebay, (go to ford) get a blade - then get it programmed to your car either at ford (expensive) or local garage with the equipment (less expensive) i thought it was £80 all in at ford - best to ask them

turbosy
Do i really NEED the master? I've got a key with the chip in (already programmed) so can i get another key, with a chip in, & re-programme it? I assumed that you needed the master to re-programme etc & only the master would work?
white_van_man
only the red key can be used program new keys, if you dont have the red key its either source a new pats ecu/ecu and red key or go to fords and ask them to cut you a new red key and program it
turbosy
Ok, so i rang Ford FPMSL!! God job i was sat down! They said the ECU had to be reprogrammed, as the original code they don't keep on record, £80 + VAT. I have to buy 2 keys, from them, 1 RED master key & 1 BLACK key, £25 + VAT each, they would cut & reprogramme them. All in £130 + VAT. I then rang a local auto electrician, he said "buy a RED key & a BLACK key, get them cut, & i'll come to your house & reprogramme it for £30. 2 keys @ £17key cutting £10-£20reprogramming £30Total + £57-£70. Both Ford & the auto electrician said you need 2 key to programme a new key?
revoltos
Yeah you will need the new master (Red) then a normal use key (Black as you dont want to really use the red key in day to day format as you might brake it or loose it plus it will wear and if you ever need a new key cut its good to have a key in a non worn state.
