furqall Posted June 25, 2007 Share Posted June 25, 2007 the plastic doorstrips on my mk6 are colour coded and smooth, ive got another one to replace a dented one but the strip is grey and textured do i just spray it with a rattle can then laquer it? or do i have to spray it with a high build primer first or just rub it down first? JC Posted June 30, 2007 Share Posted June 30, 2007 Sand the grey strip first, just enough to roughen the surface, this helps the primer to stick better, use plastic primer as PeeWee said, use wet and dry to smooth the primer off before painting.
