Stu
A bankers draft is basically a gauranteed cheque from the bank... should be fine.

reid
thanks , feel a bit better about it personally mate i would let him pay £1000 deposit and give him the MOT/history if any. then let him come back next day with rest of cash for keys/logbook. cant be too safe in this day and age

Stu
I personally don't let anyone take a car away until ALL the money has cleared in my account, bankers drafts included. I do make them aware of this beforehand though.
DIDZ
i kept the log book and posting it, funds are showing in my account now so shud clear ok. besides no where for him to go here ....lol
BIG STU
other way you could have done it was to take him to the bank let him pay the cash and draft into your account then turn the car over to him, would also prevent him handing you large amount of dodgy notes.
