nick_GTI
Ok so i think my axle is twisted somewhere hence why my car sits higher on side than the other. I know i can get hold of a replacment beam from my local scrappy just wondered whats involved in changing one? Can someone with basic skills like myself do it on the drive or is it for a experienced person? Cheers, Nick
Stu
How about you measure the axle to find out if it's actually twisted first?
Escort boy
It could be the spring/shock that is causing the difference in height couldn't it?
mac456
how did you managed to twist the axel?
Stu
Well, the rear beam is known as a 'twist beam'.. it's supposed to twist

nick_GTI
Well im not 100% sure what it is causing one side to be higher than the other. I know for a fact it isn't shocks or springs because they have been changed to a full gmax 60mm kit. It was lowered 40mm on standard shocks when i first brought the car thats why i brought the gmax kit because i thought one of the shocks was knackered but it is still like it. I dont think the car was like it when i first got it im sure i would of noticed becuase it it 10mm different. The drivers side sits where 60mm should do but the passenger side sits 10mm higher and is doing my head now Anyone else have any ideas on whats causing this problem? Stu
Okay.. So you didn't notice a problem before really, but you've bought something cheap and crap and now you're paranoid the car is twisted? Heh.

So you didn't notice a problem before really, but you've bought something cheap and crap and now you're paranoid the car is twisted? Heh. When i first noticed it was on the old suspension and is still the same now ive changed it. If i'd put a £500 set of coilovers the problem will sill be there that is my point
Stu
Well, procrastination won't get you anywhere - go measure up the beam to see if it's twisted.
