Scotteh
Anybody else playing the beta? If so what do you think? Personally I'm starting to get into it, isn't like bf2 or any other game of that type.....I don't even think it compares to wolfenstein due to the engine differences. Although you can't beat stealing the enemies outfit and going round dishing out backstabs...

foxdie
hell no, i bought that, played it for 10mins then turned it off, havent turned it back on since. Theres a new one been annnounced with screenshots. Screen shots are iniatially for the PS3 - but it will be a multi platform gamehttp://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/797/797909p1.html
Scotteh
hmmmm looks interesting, will have to keep an eye out for that, although if it's been designed for "multi platforms" it usually doesn't bode well because there won't be any specific dx10 coding from the ground up, which means it's already gonna be behind the rest of the new age games coming out after crysis

Scotteh
no, dx10 is only part of vista which means it's not available on consoles, so anything designed on a console, even the new age ones is going to be inferior to any dx10 game built from the ground up. it's noticable atm even in lost planet which is a 360 port to the pc, pc version is far more polished with the dx10 features even as a port so ones built from the ground up with dx10 like crysis are in a category of their own. I know what your saying, But ATI desinged the engine on the 360, of which features was used in the develeopment of direct x 10 by Microsoft. I know i've seen the review on TOms hardware also, but what they fail to mention is the fact the PC would have been running 32XAA and 8xMSAA etc etcWere as the 360 version i would imagine is limited. The mod is InstaUnlagged on DM17 (fast-rail). The challenge is first to 40 frags, 1v1. I'm willing to put £100 down .. Are you? nb: i used to run the official php q3a clan, best clean-up was 40 frags in 1m12s against 15 people.
Scotteh
oooo i like it stu! been waiting to find a decent railer (was my clans railer)i'm not putting money down though since the last time i played q3a on dm17 was about....4years ago  i'll see if i can dig out my old q3a cfg, as i can't remember my setup now at all think it's on the hard drive in my components box i'll let u know if i can find it, if not i'll still give u a game cuz i fancy a blast on quake 3as for dx10 paul, it's not the aa and af that make the difference, it's the particle effects, thinks like smoke, explosions etc, that's where the differences lie and why consoles are always outdated in pc terms by a couple of years at most. RickH
Never been a fan of ET, or any Quake engined type game to be fair. Always found Half-Life engined games more fun, CS in particular
