1mnot4hire
I had a massive wobble somewhere on my car from the wheels, at first I thought the discs were on there way out. Meanwhile I bought some lovely Toyo Proxys (not the budget ones) for £30.00 each (cash payment - the cheapest way) and put them on my OZ light weights which were balanced by the last man I bought tyres from (or so I thought). I gave the tyres to my cousin who has access to the tyre putter onner and without hesitation he just bursts out laughing......whats so funny?? I thought....it turns out that the guy who put the tyres on last time hadn't actually balanced the wheels cos there were no weights at all on any of the wheels....w*nker!! The long and short of it is, I now have new discs and pads all round (for absolutely no reason) and a car that no longer feels like driving an Ann Summers special..... You beauty!! Prior to this little incident, my clutch went, so I was expecting the hundred odd quid it costs nowadays to cover the invoice from the very kind garage, who very kindly pointed out that the big seal had gone aswell......oh well...to top it all I'm not a member (well wasn't last week) of the AA, so the little orange phone at the side of the motorway cost me £120...yippee...plus the new clutch and seal....£273....wahooo...plus the new tyres....yeah...a grand total of £550 all in the space of one week...When someone told me that ford was Fix Often Repair Daily..I shrugged it off.... I'm not having a good FORD moment today....

Well, the discs did look fairly worn, but not at replacement stage. I would have done the DIY solution but I needed the car sharpish and the garage managed to get all the parts needed and did the whole lot whilst I was at work and had it ready to pick up at 1730 when I left work - quite handy really!! Well, the vibration just felt like it was the brakes, I should have checked - I know - DOH!! 've just been on a website for new front wings for the car and they are 25 each, is this normal?? whilst I'm here...

sidrick
1- Warped disks wont cause vibration unless you're braking, 2 - Wheels don't need to be weighted to be balanced. TBH, it sounds like you're a n00b. Lesson learned.

The site I found the panels on was www.everycarpart.co.uk I've got a friend in a body shop who's gonna fit them and spray them properly....I didn't realise at first that they were welded, not like my old 306 where you could just unbolt stuff... I will say though since I've had new tyres and the wheels balanced the car drives like a new car...can't wait to get her on track, try and spank my aunties evo....ermm...I did say TRY...
