MarkyMark
Right, as some of you might know i was thinking about putting cyclone arches on my car to compliment the cossie wheels well after much thought and some stupid bodyshop prices im going to go down the route of flaring my arches. I want to do the all the work myself and let the bodyshop spray it up. The big question is whats the best way to go about this??
ScORTED
one of those arch roller things that bolts onto the hub and you work the metal out bit by bit... good luck with it http://www.archenemy.co.uk/prices.htm how about these guys - seem reasonable flaring - important informationFlaring is a risk to your paint and even your straight panels, that's why next to nobody offers this service. We offer this service but only on certain panels. Bear in mind you should expect to skim and paint a flared arch to get a perfect result, and if you are lucky you won't have to. rear archesThe best results are seen on cars where the bumper isn't a part of the arch, eg Nissan 200sx or where the arch already has a factory flared profile eg BMW E36. Even so flaring the rears on a flat sided car such as a Seat Ibiza is possibleDifficulties can arise when the flare is large including an uneven finish or paint damage. We can advise you on our experience with your car. front archesFlaring fronts is difficult, as the single skin is often not strong enough to be stretched by the roller and can deform. We only flare arches which have a factory flared profile eg BMW E36 on such cars the final vertical section of the arch can be flared out to match the line or the arch above it. To get a perfect smooth finish a skim and paint will be required. If you have arch liners you may have to loose them, we can advise for your car. MarkyMark
James, could i do this.. cut some metal to the required shape, weld to the original wing, grind the welds flat, fill and sand to clear imperfections, then get sparayed up??I've started making some templates out of cardboard before cutting any metal. ScORTED
thats not flairing mark... hats welding bits onto your arches... you could do that but having the arches flaired out would achieve the same effect - probably a better result?

madxrcabby
welding is alot of hassle thats not needed ............ flaired arches would probably be just a costly as cyclone ones ....... but if its your first time at doing something like it , prepare to be spending a weekend on once arch , or else you'll end up doing it too much , or maybe end up doing one more than the other
ScORTED
you'd better off leaving flairing to a pro, or doing cyclones...
