madxrcabby
offset is a bit wrong for an escort , spacers will cure the problems tho
white_van_man
even with ford 15x6" alloys i had the same problem, what we did was take a lump hammer to the inner arch and moved it in about 1/2inch or so

Hagar
One day people will realise putting huge alloys on cars ain't a good thing I would'nt call 17" wheels huge would you, i bet you just love loking in the mirror 1st thing in the morning *uncontrolable sniggeringand thought wider wheels gave you better road handling? Thx again for your help WVM
Stu
17" wheels are obviously huge to your car, because they don't fit. No, what gives you better road handling is the overall contact-patch of the tyre on the road and the compliance of the tyres sidewall.. So no, running a 205/40/17 tyre, which gives you a tiny contact patch and hardly any sidewall flex, is not good for road handling.
