Ed_van_Dijk
Yeah sounds like the best way, have to get the exact right size of the drill bit though otherwise it will b an arse if its too small and you dont want to make the holes any bigger either! or Or

stoo2000
Not quite sure you need a diamond tipped disc for getting rid of a rivet hehe, Just drill the head off the rivet and it will come out Pee easy. you only need a drill a little bigger than the hole

majorj0nny
yeah drill em out - invest in a metal drill bit (ie - designed to drill metal instead of just being made of metal obviously) you might find using crappy wood drill bits they just get hot and blunt and you are there for hours .. BIG STU
just use a drill bit slightly bigger than the centre of the rivet then slowly drill it, dont need to go all the way through. just enough to weaken and remove the head of the rivet. Another good method i have found in the absence of drill bits is to start screwing a small self tapping screw into the centre of the rivet, the top soon comes away with the screw, minimal mess, no danger of drilling right through.
