pitta
This problem on my car has been doing my head in for ages!!!!! I have already changed the idol control valve, mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, and also the temp sensor as it only does it when it is warm. I have also disconnected the gearbox speed sensor from the multi plug and this has cured it, but i also then changed the sensor and it made no difference. The only way i can stop this fault from coming on is to disconnect the gearbox speed sensor, but as soon as i connect it back up its holding its revs when i come to a stop, e.g at traffic lights at aprrox 2500rpm then creeps back to 750rpm where it should be. The only thing i can think of what might be causing it is the wiring from the sensor to the ecu or a faulty ecu! Hope some has had the same problem and can help me! heavyrightfoot
If it turns out to be the ECU let me know, as I am currently breaking a 1.8 GTi

meekstaaa
Did you replace it with a new sensor? or was it second hand?
