leegti
Half hour ago it was working fine, just been out to the car and now all the button does is cause the heated rear windscreen butten to light up. Any ideas? the key i got for the car doesnt open the boot, so im worried i could have a slight problem!
meekstaaa
sounds like a dodgey earth mate, use the search button for boot release should come up with how to cure it!
shawdreamer
{pasted from a reply I just gave on a thread about console button}.... I just had a sod of a time with the boot release on my set thought it was the switch to cos I tried the solonoid off the boot and it worked fine funny thing is when pressed from inside the car the boot release would turn the heated front screen on, and the windows were a right pain to get down after several hours of haynes consultation and a few suggestion of helpful members I got to the "so gonna go get my hammer" point.... then my gf(of all people) spotted the rear wiper and foglight wernt working too, I popped the boot with the rear fog turned on and as it went up "blink" on it came, thats right crimped wires in the boot tube that went from the lid to chasis near the hinges. Now I dunno how this was effecting things other than the bootlid electrics like it was with windscreen heeter but once I sorted a new wire loom from bootlid to the chasis it all stopped..... windows even started workin fine... auto electrician said the likelyhood was that the relay panel and its controller was getting random unrecognizable signals from the crimped wires and was just tryin to cope either way mines workin spot on now, hopefully yours is just down to the switch like cos thats a piece of pee fix failing a obvious solution leave the bootlids panel off.... its hidden from view inside the car during normal use and you can drop a backseat and flick the lock barrel manually till its sorted
leegti
Cheers guys, took the panel off and also pulled the wires out from the top of the bootlid, and after a bit of playing about, not really doing anything, it started working again, so guessing its down to a lose connection.. left the panel off the back for now till i can sort it properly. Cheers again!
