meekstaaa
Hi, have you first checked that you have the looms already installed? on some escorts (pretty much anything other than the basic models) the have the plug in the door just below the mirror and all you have to do is put the mirrors in and plug the plugs in If not then i'm not sure and someone might be able to help

Hezz
you should see a female end plug that is nailed to your door about 10cm? underneath where your mirror sits what model of escort have you got? si, ghia, lx etc?
revoltos
To sound like a parrot, you have to remove the door card then remove the foam sheet behind that, just under the mirror, just below where the speaker hole is you should see a large black plug that has around 6 wires going to it, it is pinned to the door but dont pull it off as leccy mirrors have a cable that is long enough to reach so you plug it in well away from the risk of water. Its just a case of remove the one phillips screw holding the black plastic trim of on the inside of the mirror then while holding the mirror on the outside undo the three bolts on the inside and then change it over. easy peasy. Plus there heated if you have heated screen.

meekstaaa
if you don't have them lt me know i might be able to get them out of a car i'm breaking at the moment. I'm pretty sure they'll be there in the gti i have them in mine. but check, it only takes 5 mins to whip off the door car, 6 or 7 screws around the edges, 1 in the handle, 1 in the catch and one in the bottom corner. JC
i found the black plug you was on about but something was already plugged in to it. any ideas Most likely if its got something plugged into its not for the mirrors! This diagram (ford!) may help: What year is the finesse? as the later ones differed alot!
