bump strips?

hi, my mk5 rs has bump strips, are they easy to remove? like is the paint gonna come off with them?

Paint will be fine, i removed the bumpstrips on my mk6 and how i removed them is:

 

Use fishing wire to cut them off, then spray a good dose of WD40 onto the gunk left behind, let that soak in, and then rub it away, job done

easier method.........sod the fishin wire off........ heat gun the strip just enuf not to melt it, failing that let some sun get to it......once you have your digits under one edge a gentle pull while trying not to overly angle the strip away from the bodywork and itll ease off nicely

don't let it get too hot and stick to your hand when pulling it off.... that hurts....

before you do this check the paintwork carefully, lazy asses leave em on and spray round them, use them to 'lose' the blend marks when spraying or re fit them when paint is tacky leaving a really cool go faster stripe when you take them off!!
