Tez162003
how did you stick it to it sammy as i want to do my dash in white best thing to use is a professional adhesive! the stuff that comes in a paint tin and has to be applied with a brush, i should know lol, i tried 10+ glues trying to find a decent one, its fairly expensive but good. the whole tin is a warning! lol solvents etc etc, just like the good old stuff before regulations made glues crap! if anyone wants a tin pm me as i can get you some and bring it to f/f if you wanted! or post how did you stick it to it sammy as i want to do my dash in white best thing to use is a professional adhesive! the stuff that comes in a paint tin and has to be applied with a brush, i should know lol, i tried 10+ glues trying to find a decent one, its fairly expensive but good. the whole tin is a warning! lol solvents etc etc, just like the good old stuff before regulations made glues crap! if anyone wants a tin pm me as i can get you some and bring it to f/f if you wanted! or post infact its not expensive as the tin is a litre tin so you get alot of glue for your money!!! Tez162003
best place to get it b&q??any glue from a b&q or halford etc will be poor nowdays, due to all the regulations meaning certain ingredients of the glue cannot be used anymore! this has meant the glues are getting weaker and weaker compared to those of the past, like i said earlier, the best you can pos get is a professional adhesive from a pro as there not sold to the public! thats due to those regs! where i ge it from should really sell it to me but they dont really care! lol its the same with car paints, not the same as they use to be as they have had to take out certain parts, making them less durable etc etc, and prone to reacting! cossy
ok cheers ill try to find somewhere that will sell it to me
Tez162003
ok cheers ill try to find somewhere that will sell it to me buy all means try a normal glue! if what you want to trim wont naturally want to pull away from the part the weak glue will be fine! for example this dash piece would be fine but if you were trimming something which is naturally going to want to pull away like the door panel it that sweeps inwards it will want to pull away! you will def need it then! as i found out! SaMMy125
cheers all , evo - stik impact instant contact adhesive is the only stuff to use , the rest just isn't stronger enough , or will start to come off with the heat in the car , its the stuff that you put a think layer on both sides wait 20mins for it to dry the put together, sticks like crap, just make sure u get it right first time as its a bugger to get off , oh and sand down any plastic before put the glue onto it easy my dash is already piano high gloss black so dont really wana cover that and the seat fabric in using is abit to thick to strech , i may do the gear suround tho, or buy another back seat and do the centre console on the floor , just finding some fabric the right lengh its all abit short im not 100% ok on the fabric but looks very good when its in, and its all matching eg seat, door cards, and the bits iv done, looks like it was like that from factory, only reason im using it, if i went for any think else would have to get the seat etc retrimed or it would just look weird , abit patch work Edited July 10, 2007 by SaMMy125
