The_Haywood Posted July 10, 2007 Share Posted July 10, 2007 hey all ... was just wondering if they did an engine belly plate for either the mk5 escort or the mk5 escort van.... i'm cleaning up my engine and engine bay soon and so want to get a belly plate for under the engine to stop all the Shite coming up from underneath.... shawdreamer Posted July 11, 2007 Share Posted July 11, 2007 if you can find a a seller on ebay, you can use a large sheet of polyurethene corrogated packing board cut to the size you require(looks like its cardboard box cousin but made of poly), a little heat allows you to concave it slightly around the less abtrusive bits of engine belly and its easily cut to accomodate fixing points, after its shaped you can use any number of coatings to stiffen and harden it, fibreglass resin being the most advisable as it takes a good kicking before any real damage occurs, plus its easily repaired if that happens Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
