Power steering

Right, i have had slight power steering problems, symptom has been that first thing in the morning the steering to the right is non existant until i turn the wheel full lock a few times, to the left its fine, as the system is self bleed i assume this is the process its doing as after that its fine.

To add to it i had a small leak (wasnt sure what the fluid was) coming from the right hand side (as you look at the engine) sort of around the lower arm area nearest the engine. Checked all my fluids yesterday & the steering fluid is low.

Obviously im not looking for someone here to know exactly where the leak is.

What is there on that side of the car that links to the power steering system that could be leaking?

Pipe,Seal etc.?

Any pics would obviously be of help.

Thank you in advance.

Pete.

hmmm!

Steering is fully workin after the initial start up problem leading me to think that the pump may be ok?

Veins in the rack?

Tell me more, is the rack the big round thing above the puddle of fluid?

Im no mechanic remember, but quite capable of taking in instructions lol.

aye peewee thats the rack. see the bot on the left hand side that bolts into with the pipe coming off the left of the screen, thats the vein.

If its the one with the bolt on its filthy, if you mean the on below it thats dry as a bone?

Cant you replace a vein if its bolted?

Cleaned up.
