paul7278
hi ive been trying to find a set of coil overs for my escort, i dont have a massive budget so avo and eibach are out of the question i know you pay for waht you get and all but i do like my teeth being knocked out so does anyone know a brand that will sell me some half decent coil overs for around £350 i know its a small amount but ive seen some weitec ones that are coil over front and height adjustable rear its £320 delivered which isnt too bad but i just want to hear opinions! thanks
plumber60
Coilovers are pointless for road use...Weitec are galvanized rather than stainless so will become un-adjustable very quicklyIf you HAVE to or really WANT coilovers save up and buy H&R for £800+ Otherwise for £350 buy a Koni kit. Wrong Section Too
lazy_arse_pie
jay what sort of drop is on the koni set ups ?
Stu
-30mm, but the springs are Shite... I buy the £350 koni kit from larkspeed, then sell the springs on ebay and use the money to buy H&R's.. that's exactly what i had on my old GTI turbo. Tez162003
i've got spax rsx's and like plumber said they are kinda pointless on road use! but they do help round those tricky corners! lol. think the spax are now around 500 or maybe a bit more?? ST170 Dan
i know u can get gaz ones for about £500, u have a compromise between price and quality then. for the brief time i had coilovers i found them quite usefull as i could raise the front end up so speed bumps werent a problem. plumber60
Agreed, only ever use Eibach/H&R for road use springs as they are designed/tuned on each individual car rather than generic items

plumber60
Ive bought some gaz shocks £530 there wicked. look them up theres also cheaper spring set ups GAZ shock or coilovers? What do you mean by there are also cheaper spring set-up's? Eibach/H&R are the only ones worth buying if you HAVE to lower the car...Coilovers are good... for track use when set-up properley using corner weighting etc.Good for show use if you want your car on its arse for the show and a safe height for driving home... BUT they are a big waste of money for every day driving on roads
