Stu
From experience, particulary with Mobile 1 0w40 Shite, it's just so thin it promotes any leaks. 5w30 up to 10w60 is very nice!
plumber60
My understanding of the I4 is that 10w40 is the best for standard/light modifications

benham3160
Castrol Edge 0w30, better cold start than standard 5w30 but same running temp' protection. You need zetec oil mate, tbh any other oil will fuk it upROFL Now thats helpful I've been told by a Ford engineer not to use any of the Edge oils in Ford engines, as the detergent pack is designed for modern VAG/GM oil seals, and test engines have not stood up well to Edge oil. Neither Ford or Castrol recomend using Edge oils in Ford engines. Personally, for me any reasonable quality 5w/30 oil, except Magnatec. Regards,Andy I think there's VERY little between oils of the same viscosity, and this topic is ALL opinion. However, in my cars I use Shell Helix or Magnatec, so I'm curious as to why you say anything except magnatec?
