Stu
Unplug the sensor that feeds the gauge and short out the plug (on the loom side) with a piece of wire or safety-pin or something.. the gauge should go full sweep... The right sensor is on the underside of the thermostat housing, near the coilpack.

BUT the fan kicks in when it get to warm (eg: in traffic).... what can this be? Edited August 13, 2007 by ScottSummerhayes

ScottSummerhayes
I just ignore it, i cant do any harm seeing as the fan is kicking in. the dial sensor is fucked then. Is this on the engine or in the dash, because iv had two completely different dash clusters. If its on the engine maybe a part number or pictures would help? caled
There are two sensors attached to the thermostat housing on the right hand side of the zetec engines. the top one controls the fan and the other one controls just the dash temp sensor. Grey Ghost
Me to - I have this god damn problem. Fan kicks in - temp guage in cluster doesn't. So if we get the guage to sweep by bridging the sensor it should work after that - or are we just testing sensors here?
