madxrcabby
everything would have to be declared bar the wheel colour if you wanted to do it legally
Ferret-Si
as above, u can slide the bakes and splitter as they can be disregarded, my insurance said they didn't matter
TommyT
To get my premium down i added 2 more drivers onto my policy that have driven for 10+ years (ie mum and dad). It cut my insurance in half even after i declared my mods and accidents that werent my fault (fcukin admiral). You think it will put your premium up but it dont!!! Im 20 with no no claims and 2 accidents not my fault and they charge me £900 on a GTi!
chaved escort
anything that changes the car from standard should legaly be declared..
Pete
You should declare everything and let the insurance company decide what matters and what doesn't. When I upgraded the brakes on my old GTi to 4 pots, I rang them up and told them about it, just to be on the safe side, and they kindly put my premium up I explained that surely they made the car safer and they replied that young people who put bigger brakes on, tend to drive that bit faster as a result
Mike C
I always e-mail/fax the insurance company a full list of every single mod/alteration, that way, they can decided what makes a difference and what doesn't. 90% of the stuff usually doesn't
stuey650
Different insurance companies are different, when I declared my mods to CIS a few years back they really didn't care as long as they weren't performance enhancing so brakes, spliiter etct hey were fine with. Other companies want to know everything, best bet is call them up, tell them your thinkg about the following mods and ask them to quote you on how it will effect your premium. You may find it will be free or it may increase a little. Can't see it being to bad though.
