BadBoy Remixed
Right very simple: 1993 Zetec - Left factory with CAT (not the one that goes meow) apparently it was an optional extra thus meaning i dont technically need one fitted providing my car can pass the cat MOT pass level is this true? Stu
No, it's false. A 1993 engine requires a cat.
BadBoy Remixed
cheers stu, is it the engine or chasis that the rules are based on?
ScORTED
which ever part is older, if you can prove the engine was assembled pre aug92 then you don't need a cat, data for ford emissions is patchy for vehicles produced between 92 and 95, you can write to your local vosa asking for details, if they comeback no data you can attempt to argue an mot tester into not forcing you into a cat test. the easiest option by far is to buy a sports cat... can have them from about £60 if you shop around for a cell on its own
