Well I lost my virginity today, my strip virginity that is Not a bad evo turnout & the strip was pretty busy all day, to many bloody bikes there though! My sump gasket gave way again last night so was in the missus st today, she was still asleep when i was about to roll on to the strip so had to wake her up & kick her out fast My best time was a 16.9 just couldn't get a decent launch and didn't wanna push it to hard as it wasn't my car

 

Got a few good snaps today & had a good play around with me new camera, the weather stayed really nice & the sun was actually shining for a change, stu your car got quite a bit of attention from what i saw, as said previous you did well getting it in to the 15's Quality burnout on the strip by Ian, not quite sideways though... Nice to meet the member's I hadn't met before & likewise to the people I had, Hope you made it back ok strig. Any who on with the snaps.

It was a good day, some goot times from the evo crowd, I wont tell any, I dont want to steal anyones thunder.

 

Cheers to all that came, I thought it was a good day.

 

not too much in terms of casualties, apart from Yules missus, technically a casualty from the night before, my cat and 2nd gears syncro, carls slightly glazed clutch and some guy left bits of his induction kit in the left hand lane, for me to find on my race against Ian, in which he toasted me. Bugger.

Good turn-out today and although we didn't even get there till after 10, we got 5 runs for our money

 

The weather was great but as the temperature increased so did everyones strip times but luckily I got a PB in the morning

 

My brothers zetec-s was running 16.8s

 

And I got a 16.0 which I'm quiet pleased about

Had a great day. Good to meet Stu, and to meet up with the familiar faces aswell.

 

Even tho i didnt run it was good fun, took loads of photos nd went for a damn good meal.

 

Photos will be up tomorrow, now its time for top gear( or whats left of it) and some sleep.

Was a great day, me and Carl stayed for a few extra runs, i ended up running against a 12 seccond Astra Turbo, and a GT4.

Managed to get away before both of them, these fast cars in the hands of people that can't launch- i dunno i was impressed at the ammount of cars that i managed to get a decent amount of space infront of.

 

Nice to meet Stu, though i didn't get much of a chance to speak to people as i spent most of my time quing for the strip. Got my reaction time down into the .3's on my latter runs, and a .2 so i was improving there

he did his really quick one and from then on he was running upwards of 3/4 seconds longer when I was still there.

Yeah was a BRILL day, got home JUST, about an hour from pod I noticed that the exhaust note had changed so pulled into the services and the engine sounded like a 1.1 fiesta!!!!! Had to limp it home under 3k in 5th doing 65-70, got it home ok just gotta get the bloody thing ripped apart and replace those 'new' hydraulic lifter's I bought off e-bay with my original ones and change the oil, AGAIN which reminds me, what grade oil is supposed to be used in a 2.0 silvertop zetec? I checked by the book at work and it said 5w 30 semi synthetic but I think that's what's caused the problem as it's REALLY thin!

 

anyway my best time was my 3rd run, and today was the first ever time i'd been on a drag strip, infact on ANY race circuit! can't be arsed to scan the slip in right now as i'll have to set the scanner up and TBH I'm goosed so i'll just type it out.

5th run against a saph cossie 2wd LOST

6th run against Ian again WON

7th run against a stripped and caged nova LOST

 

Soon as i've sorted the tappets on the Si i'll be up for another RWYB day either at pod or some random track
