Mk4 Zetec Conversion.

For all you people who have dropped a Zetec lump into a Mk4 Escort...

Am I right in thinking that you need to modify the Engine mount? I can see the gearbox being quite straight forward as its the lB5.

As for the wiring, how does the Zetec loom and Mk4 Interior loom (windows, central locking etc) fit together at the Fuse Box?

Im definetly wanting to do the conversion, just need to be pointed in the right direction from first hand experience.

Cheers, Ryan

We'll see, but for the time being, its bodywork. Well....whenever I get time to do it, the Si seems to take most of my time!!

Plus aswell, I like the Zetec engine, not sure on the CVH Turbo. Rs2000 engine could be another option?

Anyways!! Whats needed to make a Zetec fit!?

As you already know, modified mount and suitable wiring diagrams. What do you want, step by step guide with photos?

Would be nice! Only joking, just wanted to hear some problems people have had. Make a decent thread about fitting engines, no Fcuking about painting rocker covers etc etc.

Fpmsl  Listen to Stu more carefully! If you decide to do such engine conversion, he will help you aswell, like many others. Dig out what kind of different mounts you will need, and for the diagrams...Stu has the both wiring diagrams somwhere in Pdf. You must study them carefully (this can take several hours) and decide where to splice them.
