XR3i 1993 Cabriolet 130bhp *SOLD*

Hey everyone,

 

After much thought and deliberation - believe me i have thought this through to the extent of giving up driving completely - i have decided the cabby has to be sold :sad: I just don't have the time or money to get this back in proper working order. Every time i manage to sort one thing out another goes wrong and the car will end up rotting or completely falling apart if someone doesn't take it on and give it the love and attention needed!

 

It has done just over 94,000miles, tax til end of march 08, MOT til May but i will confirm this, pacific?? blue, XR3i 130bhp, full leather wingback interior, Ford 2008 RDS stereo - tape and cd player although the screen on the radio has broke, alloy wheels and full size alloy spare, fully electric back and front, PAS, replaced front speakers as they had blown - think i put alpine speakers in.

 

Bad points

 

Needs new exhaust

Front passenger and Driver window leaks

Aerial won't move

Boot has dropped on one side (will get picture tomorrow)

Rust on two wheel arches

Rear speakers need replacing as they have blown

Small leak under car when stationery

I would have this off you, but i fear my offer would be nowhere near what you want.

The reason being the car possibly needs a new roof or at least the frame sorting as it isnt fitting properly round the windows, new exhaust which aint cheap, boot lid hinges possibly broken or rusted, and two new arches (i refuse to use filler) Adding it up comes to quite a bit.

 

Clean mk6 cabbys (admittedly not leather or a ghia) i have seen go for 850-1000.

 

But dont get me wrong, your car being the 130 and with leather certainly may get some admirers!! I like it

The roof seems fine to me (i could be wrong) i think it is more the seals that need replacing, i know where the leak is coming from and it is the same place both sides.

 

I will check the hinges but you can hardly notice the boot has dropped one side slightly, i don't remember seeing any rust on the hinges at all though - will get some pictures as can't see why it has dropped as it all looks ok.

Possibility will have a MK5b smiley bonnet not the xr3i bonnet as seen in the pictures, will know by Monday

a little tip with the leaky windows...... open the roof halfway and get a load of fairy liquid with no water on a cloth and rub the f**k outta the seals and give it a try.... 9 times outta 10 that sorts leaky seals unless they look completely knacked...
