December 2, 200717 yr Author What i got for my money was: genuine cosworth front archesgenuine cosworth sideskirtsfull cut and fitted rear arches with extended lipgenuine cosworth bonnet and ventsmorrettes17 alloysrs turbo enginefull leather interiorgenuine cosworth rear bumper the rest of the parts were shite. So after finally getting the car home after it broke down 3 times. (200 mile drive) with dodgy electrics i was planning on stripping it and selling all the parts but the engine and putting that in my project at the time. this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/8f93a54f.jpg
December 2, 200717 yr Author But!!!! it was start of summer, and after stripping the cars interior electrics and fitting a new alarm system (took like 3 days straight! knighmare) it was running nicely. i drove it around for a few weeks andi kinda fell in love with the soft top and decided it was my new project. i had the car paint touched up, bumpers, doors, bonnet and headlights painted, and it looked ace. now, all didnt go smoothly, firstly, the rs turbo gearbox gave up on me, so paid for that to be fixed, then the turbo engine blow a piston, so i was a bit stuck. after much deliberation i decided to rip the rs turbo unit out as it was wired up a write mess, and decided i would fit a 2litre zetec. the only photos of got of this are just after ive fitted it. and painted everything under the bonnet black! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01228.jpg decied to do quite a bit of work with the engine as wanted to look good and go well. 4-1 focus manifoldcustom induction pipe.samcosfew bits of bling. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01252-1.jpg Edited December 2, 200717 yr by vampire
December 2, 200717 yr Author and while i was at it decided to sort the suspension and braking out as the old units were 15 years old! st170 brake conversion and rs2000 rear all brand new apart from refubed rear beam. and also fitted gaz coilovers. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01245.jpg then i transfered my wheels over from my old project: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01247-1.jpg as you can imagine, i was now skint. coulnt get the engine running right, but booked it in with a garage for a few weeks time. then a friend of mine offered me some seats! and said i could pay him in a few weeks. lets just say bit his arm of for them: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01362.jpg now, all was not well with the engine, was misfiring the garage i took it to couldnt help me, so car was bacjk at mine.not running, but i was determind to get it workin after all the money and time i had put in to fit it. anyway, this is how the car looked at this stage: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01242-1.jpg Then while i was testing the fuel pump, disaster stuck, lets just say fuel, windy hot summer day, spark from battery, dont mix!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01248-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01249-1.jpg the words fuk, spring to mind, now at this point i was going to strip the car, as i had a none running engine, flame burn car, worth alot more in parts. the car sats burn and neglected for a few months until i went over to see a friend at a garage, and by sods law, an old friend of mine had just started working there running the painting side of things. had a chat about the car, and he came around to mine to have a look at it, said he could fix the damage easily enough as most of it was metal (thank fuk) we agreed on £1000, but more if he needed it. took the car upto his garage, were he had it for a month and worked his magic. this is what he did, alot of smoothing of things i didnt want, and fixing all the burn parts, eehhh http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01286.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01284.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01281.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01278.jpg Now i went up to see the car in primer, and give him some money, when i saw another car with an unusual colour on it, and thought, hmmmmm, i wonder what mine would look like with that colour. asked him if he could change the colour of the car from red to blue, he said £300 quid more please! and the rest is history as they say:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/sturgesst/DSC01296.jpg i will update some more tomoorw, i need sleep Edited December 2, 200717 yr by vampire
