Hi everyone, I'm half way through trying to fit a set of Escort Cosworth front calipers to my MK6 Si, all was going fine until it was time to fit the brake hoses. The bolt that conects the hose to the calipers is to long. can you get a shorter bolt or do i need to change the hoses to cosworth ones. Any advice would be much apreached.

your gonna get told off fella for posting here as this should be in the mechanical section ,some of the guys will be in soon who know brakes like the back of their hands to help

by too long do u mean once its fully screwed in some of teh threads are still showing? or is it the banjo leg causing trouble,i've never used standard hoses with cossie calipers but i've always suspected it could be possible?

 

im unsure if cossie calipers and mondie V6 calipers are 100% identical,i have V6 calipers and i've used custom braided hoses to fit mine.I recomend getting some, 300mm in length,M10 external one end M10 internal the other,and robert is your mothers brother

yeap uses shorter banjo bolts or braided lines

i bodged it and used washers...

work fine afterwards, make sure you use the same size/amount of washers on each side.. even tho i bodged it i needed my car and had already drilled out the hubs so i did what i needed so that i could use the car, i fully intend on sorting it out asap lol.

Cheres mate, Where did you get your custome hoses from?

autosave motor factor,they get a third party to make them up and deliver them same day, unsure if ur local autosave do the same,spose it depends on weather u have a local braided hose maker.
