Posted December 5, 200717 yr Just passing this site on (I'm sure there are others) as it is quite good for using technicalities to have parking tickets kicked out. Ticket Fighter Website What's really good is that it lists all the correct Traffic Signs and General Directions legislation that HAVE to be used for the parking restrictions to be legal, and it may surprise you to learn how often the Councils fail to comply. Not saying it will get you off every time, but still handy to check if you can give it a go! Carl Edit: the first sentence makes sense now! Edited December 5, 200717 yr by cargy
December 5, 200717 yr Could've posted this last year Carl. I had 3 parking tickets in 2 months. LOL. Got out of only one!
December 5, 200717 yr i got off a ticket as stupid warden put on the ticket the wrong code Could've posted this last year Carl. I had 3 parking tickets in 2 months. LOL. Got out of only one! could always park legally marcy
December 5, 200717 yr could always park legally marcy Pah .. shut ya gob! I was legally parked in said markings ... just did'nt bother with a ticket .... on 2 separate occasions in the same place!! LOL. It was funny.
December 5, 200717 yr Author It's surprising how often the wardens get it wrong by all accounts, but more interesting is the old line of "I've started writing it now, so I can't cancel it" It may be true, but it's their problem not yours. They have to put it on your vehicle to make it valid - though I'm sure they would swear on a stack of Bibles that they did, even if they didn't! I'm not condoning illegal parking BTW, just how to combat unfair penalties where discretion would have been sensible.
December 5, 200717 yr I park illegally at every opertunity when i know its unenforcable..such as the private carpark in saint andrews student union thing, right in the centre of the shops and theres NO signs at all to say u cant park there...just the staffs word to go by. I aint parking anywhere else as that costs money lol. I also park on double yellows that have huge parts that have worn away over time (altho i never park too close to a junction as thats dangerous) some double yellows are completely unnesecary IMO

December 5, 200717 yr I made a point of parking like a complete cock after my insurance company supplied me with a zsara picasso as a courtesy car....I even went to the extreme of parking across two disabled spots in a completely empty(and I dont exagerate there, I mean totally empty)asda carpark just for the express purpose of gaining more tickets against the vehicle. now you may think my reasoning unjust but firstly.....Id declared my mods and my insurance denied it even tho my premium was increased to incorperate said declared mods(and they appeared on the cover note detailing sheet) and they refused to cover the damage to them after the car had been heavily struck while parked up at my works carpark, secondly after repeatedly telling them that Id need a car that Id be able to use to traverse me to work and ferry my son round in safely they took the small but near perfect new corsa theyd originally supplied me with and swapped it for a picasso..... FUCKIN PICASSO.....and to add injury to insult.......IT WAS THE GLASS ROOF VERSION!!!....they also refused to cover the goods stolen from my vehicle by their recovery company which included a sat nav PDA and a MP3 player(even tho again my contents was insured) and then told me that all my sons disability badges and documents had miraculously vanished from their safety lockup box. my following behavior tho in some eyes might have seemed wrong...seemed perfectly just to me........think by the time I returned the car there was seven unpaid fines against it.....and not a fuckin jot they could do to get the cash off me as I changed insurance two weeks later mwahahahahaaaaaaaaaa
December 5, 200717 yr I had a ticket in an "iceland" pay n display car park, ran by TCP parking. I ripped the ticket up.4 weeks later they wrote to me.I replied saying i had no intention of paying as i work for iceland. They got a debt collection agency to write to me... and the fine went up.I wrote to both parties, i gave them my iceland employee payrol number (from 4 years ago when i worked there) and threatened to claim harassment if they continued to request money from me. This has been going on since August...I had a letter last week stating that they are sorry of the inconvenience and they on this occasion they are revoking the ticket.

So bugger them. LOL.

Whats up with a new picasso as oposed to a corsa?and did the company say that the mods would be replaced like for like? as a lot of companys insure modded cars but dont actually replaced damaged mods, the premium goes up not to cover for replacing expensive bodykits, but for the increased risk of a chav stealing the car,and the risk associated with the car being owned by a "boy racer" u shud be punished for the illegal parking, and when u are,i wont have any sympathy for u

December 6, 200717 yr I got a ticket a few years back, was literally gone less than 5 minutes . I was pi**ed but it was my fault for being stupid. Anyway I wrote to the council and said that the meter was faulty and wouldn't accept my money. Got a reply in a couple of days apologising and saying that there was a fault registered for that day and the ticket was revoked. I didn't expect anything to come of it but it was deffo worth the cost of a stamp. Nowadays I prefer to pay for secure parking in city centres. Would rather pay a couple of quid to know its covered by cctv/security guards
