well looks like my escort is nackered. well the engine that is. broke down friday last week. the tensioner went and the cam belt slipped. it just doesnt start at all now. the garage said it will most probably have alot of damage to the engine. which will cost alot to get sorted.

 

so how much do you think i could get for it as it is now??

yeah there is that option. its just finding the engine and finding someone to fit it cheap. anyone know of anyone who will do if near bristol??

put that request in the wanted sectionmate as you never know as lots of the guys on here are breaking escorts all the time,as it does not have to be a gti engine a si or finesse engine is the same spec even try auto trader or ebay

 

also speak to jdmsport off here as he does engine conversions etc ,he might have a standard one knocking around

no chance of getting £500 for a fucked escort nowadays, worth pennies imo.

if you can dong it yourself then buy an mot faliure mondeo (£100-£200) and do it yourself, but im guessing with your other post looking for someone to do it then you cant.

 

engine drops will cost £250+ (but you'll need to have the engine - scrappers £80) and since they have to strp the engine down a bit then maybe an extra few quid. its worth every penny though the 1st time you poke that accelerator.
