diesel tuning?

my escort td doesnt seem to rev freely it struggles to rev over 4000 rpm and feels sluggish i know its not a quick car but can any thing been done to improve it it has recently had a service with il change fuel and air filter change any ideas any one

Er they're not designed to go over 4000rpm.

max continuous rpm is 4800 mate they don't really like revving over 4k anyway as the torque drops right off

if you have a td max speed in 5th is 100mph and tdi is 111mph

I had a TD with the intercooler, I hit 109 before it topped out (on the clocks that is)

i had a TD with cooler and i never took it above 85 cos the noise and the fact once u hit 85 every extra MPH took minutes to achieve.

 

Had enough grunt mid range tho,and if u take it to MSD maybe it'll become even more drivable

my van since i dropped the tdi lump/box in will do 110 on the speedo
