Posted December 10, 200717 yr hi,my friend asked me if i wanted to go and get a mot done for his car. he paid £100 At this garage and the car got a 100% guaranteed pass. i was shocked. but always handy to know
December 10, 200717 yr thats called dodgy mot, may be legit but is your car fine, i can get a mot for any car for a ton, no need to even have it tested, all i need are the cars details etc. but you need to get it checked yourself atleast, just to make sure it is fine! but i never have as it is a bit stupid, just get it tested, fixed and passed knowing its good for another year! December 10, 200717 yr Yes, Im sure you'd rather know the car is safe, and its not going to fall apart. I've only contemplated it once, because the mot tester was so pickety failing it on perfectly fine things, and I knew the car was safe. Went to another garage though in the end!

I hope........that he learns his lesson by his car falling to pieces under him,and i just hope he doesnt hurt anyone when it does.
December 10, 200717 yr Author wasn't my car it was being tested on so i couldn't care less. if it was my car i would of taking it to a proper garage and had it done as i wouldn't put my kids in a death trap!!
December 10, 200717 yr i know u havent done it,whoever has tho....quote above. Altho u did say it was "always handy to know" why say this? its very handy to know, whats the name of the garage and i'll contact VOSA
December 10, 200717 yr I bought my car off a "mate" who had the MOT done 1 month before selling it. When checking the car over before buying i noticed:Lambda sensor had been unplugged and melted down due to touching the exhaust manifold - FAILDriver side power steering rack broken - FAILRear tyre down to the meshing - FAILRear drum wear below legal limit - FAIL All in all, i was pretty pissed off (although it did knock the price down considderably!). Thing is, I'm mates with the bloke who did the MOT and chances are he only passed it as a favour as the guy told him he was selling it. So now i'm dreading my next MOT as I don't know exactly what will be wrong with it! MOT's are there for a reason - safety. Might as well be driving down the road in something with no brakes and steering.
December 10, 200717 yr why do people think a mot ensures safety? its pure shite all that the test means is that the car WAS up to the standard in the garage at that time. people realy need to read the small print.
December 10, 200717 yr Author yeah just like it state it is only vaild for the time that it is in the garage/ or just that day. like stated above its only to say it was all in working order at the time it was checked Fuckin hell prices have gone up for blag mot's, £40 i used to pay same here but now its so high

Of course it ensures safety to a certain extent. You have a OAP who wouldn't touch anything mechanical on their car with a barge pole. Doing 60 down motorway (on the way to bingo) and the brakes are worn and can't stop, or the tyre blows. Chances are, it would have been spotted in the MOT and fixed.
December 10, 200717 yr it wouldnt be so bad if they did a proper mot, passed it whatever and then told you whats wrong, but i bet thats not the case.
