i have a big problem with my 1.6 si escort when its cold it runs fine but when it gets warm it cuts out ,holds back,fuel pump cuts in and out and a little brown relay clicks rapidly :nutter: . any help would be brilliant, many thanks in advance :thumb:
Have you tried replacing the relay that clicks a lot?

only thing i can find is an ecotec valve fitted with out one way valve on servo pipe, i have screwed this right in and drives a lot better seems to have cured the problem (fingers crossed)

Could be a bad earth somewhere.. sounds odd.

still doing it :nutter: :nutter: its reving on its own and i can smell a faint fuel smell fells like there is a flat spot then will pick up again, tried swearing and thretened it with scrap yard but didnt work :rolleyes:

get it to a tuning centre and let them run diagnostics ,will save all the guesswork

tried that car has a chip on it so ecu so wont play ball :nutter:

A chip would have no effect on diagnostics at all..

found out brown relay is k4 fuel pump relay thats clicking, i took out plugs and they were black and sooty,could the lamda sensor, cold start, mas or air temp sensor be the problem? :nutter: :nutter:

sounds like the person you spoke to was fobbing you off ,just take it to a proper car tuning centre
