just bought some morettes for a mk5 , but just the frames , where can i get the lights from to slot into the frames??

There's alot more too them as well as the front fascia's there's alot of structure behind to hold the lights, and adjustments, and to affix to the slam panel..

The parts will work out more than just buying another set of second hand lights i'd have thought.

what will i need then ?

the rear part of the units , 4 lamps , adjusters , connectors , few little other bits

The inner lamps alone are roughly 70 quid each new, theyre cibbie lamps.

Prpbably about 450 quid for all the bits which as mentioned is more expensive than the complete units new.

I've got a full passenger side morette with both lamps in perfect condition (outer lamp only 3 month old) and the 2 lamps from the drivers side in good condition too (outer lamp again only 3 month old) will take £130 posted for the lot, dunno if you'll ba able to use the backing plate off the passenger side morette tho as thery're off a mk6 but the lamps are all the same

bloke who sold em 2 me said that if i took apart my original headlights i could put them where the glass goes .... o well they were only a fiver

Keep an eye on ebay and the for sale section mate. Over time you might get some bargain parts off people who have smashed theirs up. If not, just buy a second hand pair and keep the bits you have as spares

Parts new cost more then the lights I know were to get individually parts from cost alot. So best get second hand pair cheap ebay or sumat

Its not the morette casing that makes them so popular tbh, its uprated lamps & setup as a package.

Also, if you put the casings where the original glass in your standards are, what sort of lense will you use, you cant just have the bulbs glaring out?

put lamps in the holes?

 

but its not gonna happen now...
