hamspeed
This may interest some of you, the 2009 Formula One Calender has been released... The additions sees the Turkish Grand Prix changing from its original August slot to a June date, The Italian and Belgian races have swapped positions, with the Spa event now taking place on August 30, a fortnight before the Italian Grand Prix on September 13. The major addition to the 2009 Calendar see's the Canadian GP dropped, hardly suprising seeing as they were laying tarmac at Turn 1 whilst the cars were lining up on the grid! The 18-race championship will reach its finale in mid November at the new Abu Dhabi Track, named "Yas Island" which is still under construction. 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship:29 March Australia5 April Malaysia19 April Bahrain10 May Spain24 May Monaco7 June Turkey21 June Great Britain28 June France12 July Germany26 July Hungary23 August Europe (Valencia)30 August Belgium13 September Italy27 September Singapore11 October Japan18 October China1 November Brazil15 November Abu Dhabi About the Abu Dhabi Circuit - "Yas Island" No. of laps: 56 (estimated)Circuit Length: 309 km (estimated)Lap Time: 1min 38sec (estimated)No. of corners: 20Top Speed: 320 km/h (estimated)Average Speed: 200 km/h (estimated) http://www.yasmarinacircuit.ae/file_uploads/gallery/215/preview.jpg http://www.yasmarinacircuit.ae/file_uploads/gallery/211/preview.jpghttp://www.yasmarinacircuit.ae/file_uploads/gallery/207/preview.jpg http://www.yasmarinacircuit.ae/file_uploads/gallery/183/preview.jpg Press release video for the Track. The aim was to build the ultimate track and it should be stunning, but seeing how long its taking Donington to "revise" there track it will be interesting to see if they can build a whole circuit out in such a short time... Yule
Looks a stunning location, will no doubt be as hot as bahrain. Marina & beaches to, they really are trying to squeeze even more "glamour" out of f1, not really a bad thing though.
sidrick
Looks like it will be amazing! I liked the Canadian GP though

Yule
Really enjoyed watching Q3, great lap from lewis. I think even though kimi's supposed to be helping massa he'll go for glory himself given the oppertunity Edited October 12, 2008 by Yule
Craig855S
Watched the quali this afternoon, well,Harrison distracted me so i saw nowt but cant wait for the race tomorrow,im gogin to sleep now so i can watch it live. Put a bet on lewis aswell. Was tempted to put a bet on Massa as the odds were great, 3/1 compared to lewis's 4/6. But lewis seems to win when he gets pole regularly. As for abu dhabi,of course it will be finished. Theyve made hunks of land in the shapes of palm trees and the earth in a very short space of time. A few miles of tarmac and some grandstands is fcuk all to them
danposs86
Unlucky for Lewis again, but two races left, if he just keeps his cool. Don't see why Bourdais lost points with his bump with Massa, he had the inside line.
sidrick
Hamilton showed what a poor sportsman he is today. The pressure has clear got to him as well. He's a great driver, without a doubt, but the messiah, he is not. Get a grip and open your eyes, you English fcuks, haha He'll be word champion at least 4 times in his career. One of the best EVER, but if he wins it this year then it's very fortunate, because the Ferrari is the best car. It's a shame Schumacher isn't still about. I keep praying that he'll come out of retirement and show these useless B*stards(the entire field(excluding the BMW drivers and Hamilton)) how it's done. Craig855S
Fantastic first lap!! But a bad result for me and m bet. Nice to see all the other drivers getting points though. I like it when Lewis goes for broke and makes it work but today was just too crazy. Its the reason why first corners are mostly quite tame, cos people dont want that to happen every race. escortjas
As i put my money on Kubica at the beginning of the season i'm happy with the result. Nice to see the gap at the top getting smaller as well, should make for some interesting last races.
