  8. right i have a 2.0 zetec from a 1997 mondeo (plastic manifold)... connected to a 1997/1998 escort gearbox ib5... i've just removed the engine bay loom from an escort si 130bhp (basically an xr3i) metal manifold which has a mtx75 gearbox. now i just started to install the engine bay loom into the bay with the ib5 gearbox and have come up with an issue!!! the reversing sensor? doesnt fit correctly, they both are the same size and shape and both have 2 male pins... i had a look on an another zetec loom (1.6 with ib5 and that had 3 pins and all male.) i know the mtx75 doesnt plug into the bottom of the box and connects to under that rubber seal is there a way for me to convert the loom to plug into a new reverse sensor? i'm starting to loose faith with all this ford changing everything for no damn good reason sensor (broken when i removed it) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/brake.jpg where it come from (the hole) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/brake2.jpg the connector for an mtx75 gearbox http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/brake3.jpg can i snip off that connector place on the old 3 pin zetec one and get a new sensor to fit the older connector... or do i remove the subframes, the drive shafts etc and swop over the ib5 for an mtx75 Lee

  11. Right basically I have my project which i haven’t touched for way over a year... recently a car came up for sale which was being broken for parts and after a quick snap up I owned the complete car After getting it home I realized it actually wasn’t as bad as I thought. So I’m stuck in a dilemma of which car to restore and complete! Contender 1: Ford Escort Cabriolet 1993 L Reg Limited edition silhouette, this car was Dave R’s and Jason’s old cabbie off feoc I bought this back in April 2006 as a shell and have put it mostly back together removing the blown 1.8 engine and replacing it with a 2.0 Zetec. I managed to rewire the car’s internals and after a fiasco of loosing Shite loads of money on parts which didn’t work etc I was despondent. “Jo” is 99% rust free with only the front drivers wing suffering a small amount. However her paintwork is completely scratched to bits full of dents and the like. The boot fell and was bent and unrepeatable. She has no roof. website: http://www.overstormdevelopments.co.uk/blue%20project.html A quick spec: 2.0 Zetec , 4x leccy windows, (I added these) heated rear screen, completely cleaned inside and out. No rust, some car history, miss matched doors, Here is some pics, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/DSCF0022.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/P1010190.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/P1010142.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/P1010138.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF0035.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF0037.jpg Issues Electrical: handbrake light not working, aerial not working, Engine bay loom needs installing; ecu loom needs installing Interior: No roof centre console missing hole for rear window power cut, door cards need fitting, Speedo needle problem, currently sits at 10mph while sitting still (i did change the needle to red but the speedo one snapped) Exterior: drivers wing slightly rusty, Roof seals missing, Doors needs repraying Roof needs fitting, owing to not having one. I bought it 2 weeks ago off andy from evo as a spares car however after spending time checking it out it’s actually in really good condition body wise it has a full and complete service history and a full ford one up to 80k the car has done 111k in total. The bodywork is in very good condition hardy any scratches the only issues are the sill is rusty the battery tray is slightly rusty the front drivers wing is blubbering. Some specs: Blown 1.8 130 brake engine, mtx75 gearbox, heated front and rear screen front fogs, front electric windows, power roof, Some pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF2695.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF2697.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF2696.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF2567.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF2651.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF2648.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF2675.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/Badboy_Remixed/what%20would%20you%20do/DSCF2694.jpg Issues Electrical: The switches have gone.
