Hello people, The time has come to sell my Escort. The car has been my pride and joy for the past 2 years and i have taken good care of it. Information about the car i think interested people would want to know is.... I bought the car as an Aubergine 1.6 with 90k. However after owning it for about 6 months, the head gasket blew and i made the decision to do an engine swap. The engine that has replaced it is a 1.8 Zetec (105PS) from another escort. The Doner car was my first escort that was waiting for bodywork repairs, the engine is a 1 lady owner (before me) 62,000 miler and runs perfectly, i have owned it from whe it had 48k on it and i have some history for both cars. I also took the dials out of the doner car so they match the engine, however i havent got round to wiring up the rev counter. An important thing to know about the car/engine is that the DVLA are unaware of the changes as i thought i would leave it up to the new owner to decide whether they wish to inform them, so the car is still registered as a 1600. Other work that has been carried out on the car over the last 2 years includes: both CV boots on the front replaced, Replacement front discs and pads, Welding on passenger side underside sill (carried out for MOT), thermostat housing replaced, Rear upper gearbox mount replaced. The car also has 2 new front tyres. So as you can see, a variety of common problems with escorts have been fixed on the car meaning that you are not likely to have to spend any money on it should you buy it A bad point about the car is that someone decided to reverse into the back of it and has left a dent in the bootlid and cracked the plastic on the top of the rear bumper. I have been desperately trying to source replacement aubergine parts but it has proved extremely difficult for a long time! You can see the damage in the pictures and i tried to make it as clear as possible. Another thing i have to point out is that the steering wheel is slightly worn on the top. Also, the car has run out of Tax and i am no longer insured on it to buy tax so i will be declaring it SORN. Changes that i have made to the car since owning it include: - Half Leather Gti interior (only slight wear on drivers bolster) - Pipercross Induction Kit (Purchased brand new and fitted with all correct mountings etc) - Pioneer DEH 9600 MP Headunit - I also had a splitter on the bumper (was the plastic from the top of a mark 5 fiesta front bumper) and the pics show the car with and without it... its included in the sale if you want it!
