  1. I was thinking alternator. If theres a bad earth coming off the negative terminal what would this cause? I believe this is one of my problems. I had ABS sensor issues in my puma and sourced some 2nd hand ones, but didnt make it any better. just stopped the "ABS check" being so vicious. Would it be easier to disable the system? and cheaper?
  2. Sorry for late reply, been busy getting it ready for the MOT retest. Its getting annoying, atleast every journey is shuddering and loosing power. And when the battery is on low power (after standing and using stuff) it'll cut out. so it could be: ABS sensors, ABS rings (behind discs on front or in the drums at the back?). Think i'm gonna have to take it to a garage and get it checked then
  3. Hey guys, this week some time I'm gonna be buying a Escort GTi and there is a little bit of work needed but is a good base car for a tidy project. One of my concerns is the ABS light on the dash. It was on when i gave it a quick test drive. Is it as simple as a sensor? or is there something else. The brakes were a bit.... crap. But discs seemed new ish, just been standing a few weeks.

Green ford puma? Worth more lol.
  5. £1000 ONO SWAP/SALE Right... Seems the other topic turned into an argument about all sorts instead of an advert and got closed. (Took long enough lol) Here we are then, For sale or swap/Px. Ford Puma 1.7 vct 66,000 (will go up, used daily) Taxed until February 2011 MOT January 2011 Aircon, electric windows, electric windows etc. Timing belt changed April 2010. Serviced February 2010. Since owning the car I've fitted rear axle spacers 12.5mm, wheels fill the arches a little more now and feels more stable at motorway speeds. Also painted the engine cover dark British racing green, black ford badges all round and upgraded dipped, main and side light bulbs and Aero wiper blades around. The car has also got nearly new Sony speakers in front and back 13cm fronts and 6x9s in the rear quarter panels. Right, few bad bits, the car is a previous Cat C insurance claim. Drivers door was damaged last year and all been repaired and approved by VOSA and MOT'd since then. This does not affect the insurance. Paint work is in prity good condition for the age of the car, bit of rust on passenger rear arch and a small area under drivers and passenger doors, Non of the rust is major, just a bit of bubbling. The under side of the car is all solid. The only other problem is the ABS/ Traction control light has come on due to a damaged ABS sensor on the rear axle. The puma is a brilliant car, and slightly under rated, It was Top Gear car of the year when released (while Top Gear was still serious.) Its fast and cheap to insure and handles like a dream. Due to the above mentioned minor bad points the car is under priced at £1000. Was originally up for sale at £1250. In this condition its worth close to £1500. Selling due to needing something bigger and cheaper to insure (something for the girlfriend to learn to drive in as well) http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/puma5.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/Puma1.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF1112.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF1108.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF1101.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF1091.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF1090.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF1063.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF1064.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF0987.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF0973.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF0956.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb234/Bolger17/Matts%20Puma/DSCF0818-1.jpg

    Puma for a Escort

im just guna say if ya puma is that good why you wanna get rid of it? need something a little bigger, even if its a 3dr escort. also need something cheaper in insurance. other than that i would keep it, its got plenty of potential.
  9. This is still for sale Willl get more pics up if needed.

    Puma for a Escort

All i know is... My puma is brilliant to drive, its fast, it handles brilliantly as standard..... as you said.... Most fords are rusty. And to come back at where this all started.... You cant pick a good puma up for less than £1000.... and i think you've gone a bit off topic now.

    Puma for a Escort

Completly agree mate The 1.7 is brilliant to drive. The car is still for sale BTW.

    Puma for a Escort

Its a fast "girlie" car then. Would out accelerate and out corner escorts. Only reason i want one is because i need something bigger and with more potential. my mate has a silver 1.6 andive beat him it does handle better tho The 1.6 is crap. Thats why they swap the 1.6 in the zetec s for the 1.7... and your mate cant be a very good driver then can he? My friend drives a 1.8 zetec converted mk4 fiesta with 140bhp and upgraded suspension, roll bars and I keep up with that no problem at all (and hes a good driver), infact I out accelerate, only thing his fiesta does better is out brake me because hes using 280mm v6 brakes. Show me a genuine "buy it at this price" working/low or no rust/taxed and MOT'd/ for less than £800 which is as low as they go unless you are really desperate to shift it. You obviously dont know much about puma

    Puma for a Escort

Spamming appreciated anything that helps sell the car And id agree, I love the way it handles etc etc. Im only wanting to swap because im struggling to get cash I am open to more than just escorts aslong as it mirrors something similar to the value of the puma. Pity ford didnt make a bigger 4 door ford puma If everything handled and drove this well would be alot more ford owners out there
