I drove a 450 brake ice rally scoob at Prodrive last year and it's been bugging me ever since. The thing was an utter beast, and the noise.......... I gotta agree there is nothing like it dude!! The bass in that engine is pure evil, and the turbo sound is quite immense!! Yarp, they were the factory 18's and lowered on the Ford spec against the standard car. It would have looked like it was on stilts before it was dropped. Not much, only 20mm, but it made a difference! Bloody car was a joke from the beginning, I just never figured it end like this!!!

Cheers all, and cheers geordie for gettin my photo's working!!! Yeah, the car did its job and saved me, but it should never have happened. The thing should have been more stable that that in a blow out, even at 60-70. Plus, my local dealer has a full record of all the faults, so yeah a claim will be going off to Ford. As for the tire, I don't know. I had to replace the fronts after 9000 miles, but that was later discovered to be a fault with the brake bias controller putting all the braking to the front. The one that blew had loads of tread even after 18,500 miles, and looked quite good. BOTH side walls ripped off, how fcuking bad must that tire have been?!?!?

No airbags deployed, and the seatbelt retention never kicked in. DON'T buy one unless you have a death wish!!!!! I've had faults with the ABS, brake bias, sat nav system, ECU, drivers seat and chassis rails, and now finally this. Granted, the car saved my life, but I can't help feel that with it rolling over, the side airbags should have saved my head from smashing into the pillar, and the engine should have shut off, which it never. I walked away with a couple of cuts on my arm and a bump on the head. Bloody lucky I'd say!

Thats a Shite sad story, and a well cool Dad for doing that for his lad. Christ knows what I'd do if my daughter passed away before I did!!

Just for the record, they don't get much better even for tyres. I wanted 2 front Conti's for the Mondi(after only 9000 miles, thanks Ford for a fcuked brake bias and ABS controller!) and they quoted £300. Not happy, but needed them, so plumped to wait. Every day I went in asking after the things, and they never got them in. Thought bugger it and went 2 ATS after 2 weeks of waiting, and got them fitted and balanced for £220 all in, within an hour!!!! Still waiting for KwikChimps to call regarding my tyres................

Fag lighter runs off a permanent live from the battery. Either run a kill switch to it under the dash for manual control, or wire it to the ignition.
