LJennison Posted April 26, 2003 Share Posted April 26, 2003 I've got a set of 17" wolfrace spirits on and want to lower it 60mm with springs but I was told that I could only lower it by 35mm with springs else it would fail it's MOT or something?? Any truth in this as I dont really want to pay out a few ton on springs and dampers as I can just get 60mm springs for about 80 quid. cheers. pti Posted April 26, 2003 Share Posted April 26, 2003 its only an mot fail if u use -60mm springs on old dampers cos when they raise your car the springs and dampers will seperate if u use matched springs/dampers it,ll pass ok so full kit for -60mm or just springs for -30mm word of warning my m8 lowered his RS 1800 50mm on 16s & gets trouble with rear scubbing with 2 people in the car so you,ll have to have your rear arches rolled.if i were you i,d go to an MOT centre and get advice on lowering just to be safe.hope this is helpfull PTI.
