My very first car was actually a D reg Ford Orion L, with the good old 1.4L CVH engine....was so slow and the brakes were awful compared to my driving instructors car (53? plate Renault Clio). The colour was a horrible brown, only paid £100 for it. I had it about a week before coming to my senses and buying something a bit more visually pleasurable....

Well I did say a bit more visually pleasurable...

 

It was a 1.4 again, and cost me nearly 2K to insure but it was my first proper car as I never really drove the Orion. The only mods were the wheels.

 

I did originally have plans of paying for an engine change to a 1.8 Zetec, fitting skirts and spats, and a MK5 front end but after a year I part-exchanged it for my blue GTi:

I had actually gone to the garage to look at a 3dr Black Si with Dare V2 alloys but when I got there, they said they had just sold it but had the Blue 5dr.....I test drove it and loved it, it was so much more refined than the MK5b and more powerful (obviously). I decided to buy it even though it had 5 doors, and wasn't even the car I had come to buy...

 

I hated the wheels, but the rest of the car was in great condition. It was at this point I joined Evo and I remember my first meet was at a Santa Pod day, followed shortly after by a night out in Camberley with Muzz, Benjy C, father_ged and Ex-Finesse. Was a great night, and I just remember the next day going for a few pics and ended up puking everywhere after a quick spin in Muzz's and Ex-Finesse's car

 

Anyway, first mod was the wheels. A big improvement in looks, and then came suspension, air filter and exhaust...

Recommended by Ex-Finesse and Muzz, I got some cossie calipers and found out the hard way they won't fit (damn ABS sensor) AFTER my Dad took a hammer to my standard discs trying to get them off the car

The clutch was going, so paid to get that repaired and then the same day I picked up another Escort

Pretty much how it stands at the moment...

 

But should be a vast improvement seen in 2-3 weeks
