killalot
What options do I have to make the ride smoother especially on the front, going over a speed bump is like hitting a land mine, just passed the mot so no ball joints etc are gone.Is it worth changing the front shocks and springs, they have been on the car nearly 11 years. If so should I use the standard ford ones, not interested in lowing the car just want to make the ride better any thoughts much appreciated. killalot
What profile are your tyres? I've put 17 inch wheels on the car now, have a look later see exactly what size they are,the speed bump comment i said is a slight over statement, even going over them slow doesn't make much difference the ride wasn't this bad when i brought the car 8 years ago that's why i said certain things must be worn by now that are worth spending a bit of money on make the ride better. 123-escortgti
I have 205/40/17 on my car and that hasn't helped the ride. I just replaced both wishbones, anti roll links, trackrod ends, and all 4 wheel bearings, for £100, and it has made the car like brand new again! I didn't realise mine were so worn, but the difference is unreal!

123-escortgti
I haven't changed my shocks or springs, i was going to, but after doing the rest, it really does feel like new, so not bothering. If i were changing them, i wouldn't go for Ford ones, purely because they are so overpriced.
