Lowering Escort van with leaf springs

could be wrong but think you need to modify the mounts where the leaf spring attatches to the car space it out thurther so ther less tension on the spring making it sit lower

 

think its 1 thows jobs where you need to be able to weld and nice bit of precision enginering

Horseshit, problem is I no longer have access to a large area with cover and flat to play with things such as that, I thought there must be an easier way, I think I read somewhere that you can put the leaf spring underneath the rear beam, and that lowers it.

can do it as you said but still requires welding onto the other side and is bit of just playin about untill u get somin that works theres no correct way of doing it its just what works best for you realy ever way its just bit of playin about with the welder lol

ween i lowered my van i remounted the axle above the spring , cut the brackets off the top and welded em on the bottom ov the axle and refitted,.
