Mk5/6 1.6 Zetec Engine - System Bleed

New to these cars/engines, have just replaced a rad hose for a mate.

 

However, when filling up the system with water/coolant I couldn't find the bleed valves.....whereabouts are they ?

 

I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything

 

Any help appreciated

There aren't any - just take it for a short drive and check levels

Start the engine, leave the expansion cap off..

 

Turn the heaters on full ( hot )

 

Let it come to temprature ( needle between the 'R' and 'M' of Normal )

 

If you have any air trapped in the system, the heat of the water will make the air rise to the top and out of the open expansion chamber..

as above only turn the blowers in the car off but leave the heat on hot as it will warm up faster this way and then just basicly run it until the cooling fan cuts in then turn of let the level settle top up if needed job done
