deano1978
Just had the car MOT'd and it has failed on these items Offside lower front suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated resulting in excessive movement offside front position lamp not in good working order (Not Working) Offside front steering arm has relative movement at its fixings Ok so suspension arms are an easy fix, offside front position lamp is working do they mean its not in the correct position?????? and the front arm steering arm what does that mean and is it a costly repair??? Also on the advisory notice i have corrosion to offside outer door sill corrosion to offside rear chassis rail heavy corrosion to nearside rear chassis rail Is this a major problem and again a costly fix or should i leave it??? Advice guys please thanks in advance.

It all depends how much the car means to you mate, but going by what you are saying there are alot of things to be done to it and who knows what it will need done in the near future. nick_ov_uk
i would say about £800-1k just to sort the rust.
charlie74
of course the repairs for the current mot pass arnt that expensive,, but the yr after it will be time to get rid,, personally i would fix it and run it for a yr,,
Chicane16v
I would say fix and run for a year, leave the rust. The rust is going to be too expensive to repair. If the car still runs sweet theres no reason not to get another years motoring out of it. Any photos of the rust? To be honest, the best thing you can do is correct what needs to be corrected for the MoT, run for 6 months, and then sell the car with 6 months MoT and let the potential buyer make up their own mind on the rust.
