Wheel Spacers for a van

Recommended Posts

Trying to fit some GTI wheels to my escort 55 van, obvious problem they rub against the back arches. Now i know i need spacers but was quoted nigh on £100 by revolution in Newcastle. Is this what anyone else has paid or is there somewhere much cheaper or another cheaper option to make them fit???

Any help appreciated folks.

you got 2 options, either beat the inner arch with a large hammer or fit spacers.I paid about £10 for spacers to go on the back.If you lower the back then you shouldn't need spacers either cos the bulge in the inner arch will then be inside the wheel instead of rubbing against the wheel/tyre.

just put alloys on my van today

right pain :vangry: had to centre the rear beam it was of to one side

bought some spacers from halfords £14.00 for the set

than reshaped the bulge on the iner arches flat with a big hammer and now wheels fit fine

hope this helped

rob

spacers are 4mm that i used .. went on with orig wheel nuts and studs

thats annoying cos i asked halfords and they said they didnt do them, only if i was fitting aftermarket alloys. Think i need to try a different branch. cheers rob.
