1995 Ford Escort Van new owner needs help!

Hi, my first post

 

I've just bought a Ford Escort van as mentioned.

 

Its been modified with various things such as electric windows and such but its very DIY.

 

My problem is the back doors, they currently do not lock as they have no key entry... they have a wire running through the back which I've been told will 'very easily' be wired up to a 'switch' that can operate the lock...?

 

I can place the switch wherever, under the steering wheel probably.

 

Is it a 'very easy' job, or should I seek some expensive expert help?
